Water Monitoring

Our new soil-water-monitoring program for summer irrigated crops, is designed to assist growers with improved irrigation management. Increased water use efficiency is paramount with reduced water supply. Our program is targeted to those wishing to optimise soil, plant and water interactions.

 

The use of in-field capacitance probes allows regular collection of soil moisture levels. This information is collated, and reports sent to growers. Better matching of crop water demands with irrigation supply should improve the timing of watering and prevent water logging or moisture stress in the crop.

 

Analysis may denote the suitability of irrigation water supplies for different uses. This knowledge may allow water treatment or better management of the water to avoid adverse impacts on soils.
